"Also Count Faustus, do not forget, the First Empire was forged by the Nords. I don't thing the fallout would be quite as bad as you might think by electing myself or the Leader of the Forsworn to the Ruby Throne. The people of Tamriel don't care what race of class the new leaders are of! They are going to respect actions !"

"If it happens that the Reachmen are chosen for the throne... You must tread carefully," Janus opined. He merely sat; he would leave it to younger men to do the fighting and debating. "The last time the Reachmen held an Empire, in the Second Century, they were despised for their savage lifestyle and their worship of the Daedra. Racial politics are the worst sort... but it is true that at this time we need stability. Are you prepared to give up your ways for the realm?"
"Jarl Jrir, you seem like a fine warrior; a good leader of men, a capable commander who knows much in the ways of strategy and warfare... but a leader must have tact, and subtlety," he said, turning his gaze on the Nord. "If you become Emperor, you must be more diplomatic and charismatic. An Empire is forged by conquest, but it is honey that binds it together, not blood."
"Count Faustus, you are the most obvious option- a youthful and handsome man with experience in harsh places... But beneath your silks do you have steel? Are you strong enough to hold together an empire in a time like this and regain its glory?"
His soft voice had finished speaking, gazing at the three men who had put forth their claims. "Look within yourself and be sure that you have what it takes. There is no shame to be found in putting aside your claim; humility is a reward of its own. Whoever is chosen will need capable men by his side to assist in his rule, and each of you can provide that service for his new liege."
He sipped from his goblet. Perhaps the liquid within seemed a bit more... viscous, a deeper shade of red than the wine that had been served. "A man who seeks the throne for glory alone will never succeed. He who truly is best for the Empire will win out... But with that, I fear, I must bid you adieu, and I shall be here tomorrow night."
As the sun began to shine into White-Gold Tower, Janus made his way out, perhaps too swift and perhaps too agile for a man of his age.

Count Indarys waited quietly as the others discussed the nomination. Choosing a lull in the conversation, The Count rises to his feet. When he can feel the attention of the others he begins to speak.
"Often this evening we have discussed the restoration of the Empire. Our attention has been focused on electing a new Emperor. This is necessary of course, but crowning a new Emperor will not restore Tamriel. The Oblivion Crisis has torn asunder the foundations of the Septim Empire...The very institutions which allowed it to flourish"
The Count begins to pace slowly around the conference table. Her red, Dunmer eyes scanning those of the men around him.
"The Mages Guild has been tainted by the evils of Necromancy. The Fighters guild remains leaderless and depleted, its reach hardly extends into the other provinces. The East Empire company has been devastated by the eruption of Red Mountain."
The Count stops pacing behind his chair at the council table.
"To rebuild the Empire we must ensure that these building blocks are restored to their former glory. The next Emperor must have strong ties with Men and Mer in powerful positions. We cannot risk electing an Emperor who will fail to bring these institutions in line with his rule.
I run in many social circles and have had life long relationships with many of Tamriel's elite. They respect me because I recognize their worth to the Empire and patronize them well. For that reason I think I would be a good candidate for Emperor."
and with that, Count Indarys sits back down.

A mid aged man stands up and talks with the voice of someone much older than he, in both inspiration and wisdom yet also in slight and almost silent pain. "People die by the blade, they die by the labor given unto them by others, but most importantly they die of Ataxia, starvation, lack of the supplies that all need to live with. What is this? In an empire with boarders so close to one another why are men dying from unavailability. Leaders of holds and fiefdoms expect their lessors to hunt, cook, and sell but what of purchase? Well it seems to be too often the case that local shopkeepers and caravans do not have the wares which people, our people want and need. Whether they be for luxury or necessity they are still desired for and wanted. Why then can't us, the leaders simply bring supplies and materials from one side of Tamriel to the other? Our objective is not to focus on wars nor egos but luxury. If I, Count Fasil Umbranox II were to be the Emperor, I would ensure that farmers, producers and merchants work their hardest to supply the citizens of Skyrim, Cyrodiil, High Rock, Hammerfel and everything in between they supplies they lust for. I will also create a steady stream of organised government funded caravan trips and sailing expeditions to further help this cause. Thank you for lending me your ears but it is now time for you to use your brains and hearts to decide what is right for Tamriel." He then sits down with a soft grunt and moves his goblet around in his fingers, admiring the way the candlelight casts its reflection on the surface of the wine.

I, Count Pyrus FlameWielder of Kvatch, agree with Jarl Jrir Fahliil-Feyn of Eastmarch.
Race shouldn't be an issue. The deeds of the one sitting on the Ruby Throne should matter, not his or her race!
We people of Kvatch have endured much, our grand City was destroyed by the Daedra during the Oblivion Crisis when the empire was invaded by the forces of Mehrunes Dagon. But we rebuilt! And now we are prosperous once again.
But now there is a more mundane threat, not daedra this time but the Aldmeri Dominion!
be it Forsworn, Nord or Imperial or whatever race, if they're willing to help to defeat this threat I say Welcome aboard.
Together we shall repair the damage done to our Empire and restore it to it's rightull place

A young man, looking to be somewhere in his Mid Twenties stood up. "I, Count Relinus Valga of Chorrol quite agree with the honorable Count Pyrus. With the threat of the Aldmeri Dominion looming on the horizon, we must not worry about something as silly as race, we must have an Emperor who is willing to take charge and eliminate this threat!"

WARNING NO ROLEPLAY IN FOLLOWING POST
So if I understand right
1, the World Assembly delegate of the Empire of Tamriel is the Emperor
2, this forum is used to roleplay the election campaign
3, the actual voting for emperor takes place by voting him/her as WA delegate
I Have a couple of questions:
4, how can I vote for someone to be the WA delegate?
5, when do elections take place?
6, is there a nice overview of the current canditates for WA delegate with the amount of votes they have and who is voting for them?
7, is there a overview with all countries and the names of their leaders so I know who to adress?
8, do you need te be a member of the world assembly to vote for WA delegate and thus vote for emperor?
9, does the empire have a official stance on membership of the WA for it's member states?

1: Yes, but it is also mostly for RP purposes.
2: Yes, but the campaign is over.
3: Yes, but even if the Emperor stops being the WA delegate, he is still the emperor unless you want to RP a coup.
4: By joining the WA.
5: In NationStates.
6: No.
7: No, but if you made one I'd take it.
8: Yes.
9: No.
But, the emperor has already been elected, which is why my profile says EMPEROR Faustus Carvain.
